The National Parks Arts Foundation and the National Parks Service in the United States have a unique residency program designed to "[connect] the parks with real working artists who are inspired by and working in the parks. The residencies also provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for artists to work on projects of their choice, away from the distractions of normal life."Â

"Any artist working in any medium, digital or analog, including writing of any type, and performance art of any type are accepted. Any site-specific work involving reversible changes to the landscape is usually not permitted."Â
"All of NPAF’s Call for Entry opportunities accept submissions from national and international artists, writers, and performance artists. Old work, new work, experimental work, even previously submitted applications to other NPAF residencies are accepted, as the selection panel changes with every opportunity."Â
The goal of the Hayama Artist Residency is to "to introduce visual artists from around the world to Japanese culture and offer them an opportunity to have their first gallery exhibition in Japan." This 4-week residency program culminates in a group exhibition.Â

GRANT REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY:Â
Any visual artist over 21 years old, working in any medium—based anywhere in the world, regardless of race, gender, culture, or religion—is eligible to apply.
AFRICA'S OUT provides grants to "advance radical change through the power of art and activism, particularly supporting artists, initiatives and institutions from Africa and its Diaspora that celebrate freedom of creative expression."

GRANT REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY:Â
"Emerging and mid-career visual artists, 25 years and older, who are African or of the Diaspora are eligible to apply. Applicants must demonstrate a significant body of work that reflects their active commitment to their practice. While one is not required to have an extensive history of exhibitions, we do require demonstrable proof of a devoted practice and understanding of how one’s work fits into a discussion of contemporary African art."
